The basic gaskets feature a single-layer .020"' stainless steel structure, with embossed sealing rings and a .001"' NBR coating on each side of the upper seal.
A groove at each corner of the base gasket discharges each of the four chambers all the outside.
The grooves discharge the chambers, completing the expansion cycle and contraction of the air trapped in the chamber when the engine heats up and cools.
This cycle is the cause of the leakage of the engine oil and then forced under the basic gasket.
The embossed design combined with the notches virtually eliminates oil leaks on the basic seals.
